Basic Car Care Tips

Even if you are regular with the car servicing schedule, it is important to focus on some of basic car care points for keeping your car work smoothly and have a longer life.

Below are some of the indispensible car care tips to keep your car in pink and plump of health!

Get Regular with the Checks

The exterior of your car does mean a lot. In fact, it is the actual beauty of your car! So you need to keep examining the exterior of your car from time to time.

- Tires :-
If not every week at least once in every 15 days check the tires of your car and make sure you have them well inflated. Best way to have it done is to do it with a tire pressure gauge.

- Body parts :-
The body as a whole, bumper, etc has to be monitored from time to time to keep them safe from all kind of damages. Also for insurance purposes, they have to be taken care of.

- Fluids :-
All the fluids in your car including the oil, power and brake fluid, the ones for transmission, air-conditioning need regular check or they may leak out causing trouble to your vehicle.

- Don’t forget the Engine – the Heart of the Car :-
Yes, the engine of your car is but the heart of it and you just can’t ignore it. So, are you wondering how to take care of your car engine without the help of a mechanic? Now, this doesn’t require any mechanic’s help or a degree in automobile engineering!

All you need to check is the engine oil level and make sure that the oil is clean. Next is the antifreeze or coolant level. And other fluids like brake and power steering and transmission fluid levels. These fluids need to be at proper level.

Also be sure about the electrical or tube connections or any other kind of wiring, they shouldn’t be loose or worn out or exposed in any way. And if you find any of the belts loose or warped get them replaced immediately.

Next are the batteries. Don’t depend on older batteries. Replace them in every 5 years.

- Keep an Eye on these Important Components :-
The below mentioned components require frequent replacement, so keep checking them from time to time and have them changed if you get suspicious about them even at the slightest level.

These components are air filter, headlights, turn signals, brake lamps, spark plugs and cables, the windshield wipers and the spark plugs and also some other essential cables.
